AUDITION FOR MAIN SQUEEZE

Main Squeeze holds auditions each fall, and occasionally in the spring. The audition process is an opportunity for us to get to know you, and for you to get to know us! It consists of preliminary auditions and callbacks. All full-time undergraduate and graduate female-identifying students at Syracuse University are welcome to audition for Main Squeeze.

For the preliminary audition, auditionees should come prepared with a solo consisting of a verse and chorus from a song of their choice. We know this can be nerve-wracking, and we all want you to succeed, so prepare something that makes you feel confident and shows off your voice! The preliminary audition also consists of a range test, pitch-matching exercises, and a sight-reading exercise.

Following the preliminary auditions, Main Squeeze selects a number of auditionees for callbacks. During callbacks, auditionees will perform a second solo that contrasts their first, learn some of Main Squeeze's repertoire, and learn some choreography! Most importantly, this is an opportunity to get to know the group and to share a bit about yourself with us!
